Wedding Ceremony and Reception at the Wishing Well in
Riding Mountain National Park

Ali and Ben tied the knot in Riding Mountain National Park a few weeks ago. They were surrounded by family and friends during their ceremony at the beautiful Wishing Well before settling in for a tent Reception, as the rain came down.

Here is a photo highlights slideshow from their day.

Family and Friends are invited to click here to view all their photos from the day

Highlights from a wedding at the Wishing Well in Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba.

Although it was raining the entire day, it did not damped the love, happiness nor the festivities in the tent later that night.

The day started at the Manor behind the Wishing Well, and as I was told, the Queen once stayed there on one of her visits to Canada. It really is an amazing “cabin” and the most perfect place for Ali and her friends to get ready for the wedding day.

Through the window I could see a bear playing on an old broken tree, the rain was coming down on the tent outside but nobody was standing looking outside wishing for something else. Everyone was present, happy and excited to be together.

Leah and I enjoyed witnessing a first look, taking the bridal party for photos in the town and then back for one of the most beautiful outdoor ceremonies I have ever seen. Everyone stood around the couple as they declared their love, made their promises and spread their infectious happiness all around.

The speeches were good, but the dancing even better. As usual the Father Daughter dance got me right in the feels.

I hope these highlights bring back the feelings of the day and can be a reminder of the amazing start to their marriage for many years to come.

Destination Wedding in Winnipeg | Phoenix + Shaun

Destination Winter Wedding in Winnipeg

I’m sure the bulk of you reading this, when hearing the term “destination wedding” picture a group of northerners escaping the winter chills and having a beautiful wedding on the beach. Having a couple escape the warm beaches of Australia to get married on a blustery, winter day in Winnipeg sounds like it just simply doesn’t fit our usual definition. But it happened. And it was awesome!

Please sit back and enjoy some of my favourite moments form this destination wedding at The Best Western Airport Plus.

As always, Madeline’s Weddings & Events really hit a home run. They kept an elegant, yet warm and cozy environment in a Winnipeg deep freeze.

What a great pleasure it was to photograph another stunning Hotel Fort Garry Wedding in Winnipeg. This time, Leah and I had the pleasure of spending the day with Carmen, Kevin and their group of lovely family and friends.

We had a magical first look in Assiniboine Forest, before heading to the most elegant wedding ceremony and reception, designed and coordinated by the team at Soiree Weddings & Events.

I can’t be happier with the way the film turned out and wish this beautiful couple nothing but the most amazing adventures, love and laughter on the rest of their journey.

Please enjoy their highlights slideshow and a few of my favourite frames from the day. The full link to their entire gallery at the end of the page.

Evergreen Village Wedding | Kirstin + Edward

What a luxurious Summer Canadian wedding.

If you think of castles, perhaps like a lot of the rest of North Americans, you start to think of places in the United Kingdom, or other historical sites somewhere else in Europe.  You probably wouldn’t think of Manitoba.  Which is why I always like to take a drive by the Grotto at Cooks Creek with guests from out of town.  What an incredible place, that always seems to shock people when the elegant building appears almost out of nowhere in the prairies.  This is a place I’ve been wanting to shoot a wedding at for a long, long time.

Kirstin and Edward clearly had luxury on their minds when they planned their big day.  So it came as no surprise to me when their day started at a castle, involved an amazing classic car, and finished up at Evergreen Village.

It was sunny, it was hot, and ultimately it was perfect.
