Destination Winter Wedding in Winnipeg

I’m sure the bulk of you reading this, when hearing the term “destination wedding” picture a group of northerners escaping the winter chills and having a beautiful wedding on the beach. Having a couple escape the warm beaches of Australia to get married on a blustery, winter day in Winnipeg sounds like it just simply doesn’t fit our usual definition. But it happened. And it was awesome!

Please sit back and enjoy some of my favourite moments form this destination wedding at The Best Western Airport Plus.

As always, Madeline’s Weddings & Events really hit a home run. They kept an elegant, yet warm and cozy environment in a Winnipeg deep freeze.

Whitetail Meadow wedding | Rachel + Jesse

A wedding from the new Winnipeg venue, Whitetail Meadow

It is exciting for me to share a wedding from the new Winnipeg venue, Whitetail Meadow.  It was my first wedding out at this amazing new venue, just south of Winnipeg, but also the hottest day I have ever experienced living in Canada.

With the humidity and wind gusting, temps reached above 40C and I could not help but feel sorry for the grooms in their suits standing in the sun.  I have found that brides just don’t get affected by the weather. They are superhuman on their wedding days, be in -40C or +40C. Amazing to witness.

I just reread the section above and realized I am truely Canadian now. I talk about the weather – A LOT!

I will return to the thing I talk about the most – weddings and the amazing moments they create.  I absolutely loved being there, capturing the story and the real emotions from Rachel and Jesse’s wedding at Whitetail Meadow. It was, although I have not known them for a long time, a perfect day reflecting them as individuals and as a couple. Now, husband and wife.

Below, you can relive a few of my favourite photos from the day, that tell the story.
